Connecting to the Toshiba Bluetooth stack
From Smoothboard
This is a guide to connecting a Wiimote to a Toshiba stack in both XP and Vista. It takes a few steps to connect your Wiimote the first time but the future connections are a lot quicker.
The Toshiba Bluetooth stack is the least documented. If you have the Toshiba stack I would appreciate screenshots and can provide a more detailed summary documentation to support this. Please contact user:benpaddlejones through the [http:www.wiimoteproject.com| WiimoteProject].
First Connection Sequence
Follow this guide if this is the first time you are connecting your Wiimote to your PC, you are connecting a different Wiimote to your PC or you have removed the Wiimote from your HID list.
1. Either right click on the systems bar and select 'Explore My Bluetooth Places' or double click on 'My Bluetooth Places in 'My Computer'
2. Click 'Create a new connection'
3. Select 'Express discovery' and click 'next'
4. Hold buttons 1 & 2 (don't let go or you will have to restart)
5. Wait for your computer to locate the Wiimote. When you see 'Nintendo RVL-CNT-01' select it and click 'next'.
- The green and yellow lines means it is connected
If this is a first time connection you will need to wait for the HID drivers to be found and installed. This may take a while and requires admin privileges on your Windows user.
8. Release buttons 1 & 2 on the Wiimote
9. Open Smoothboard or your other Wiimote application. (If you wait more than 10 seconds between releasing buttons 1 & 2 and executing your application your Wiimote may disconnect).
Reconnecting
If you have already connected your Wiimote and the device is shown in 'My Bluetooth Places' follow this guide.
1. Go to 'My Bluetooth Places'
2. Select the 'Nintendo RVL-CNT-01
3. Hold buttons 1 & 2
4. Right click and select 'connect'
5. Click 'Ok' on next dialogue box
6. Release buttons 1 & 2 on the Wiimote
7. Open Smoothboard or your other Wiimote application. (If you wait more than 10 seconds between releasing buttons 1 & 2 and executing your application your Wiimote may disconnect).
